Pals July Blog Hop: A Pattern Party

2018-pbh-blueberrybushel

Welcome to the Pals July 2018 Blog Hop. We’re having a “Pattern Party.”  This month, our creations will feature our favorite Designer Series Papers and coordinating embellishments from the new annual catalog from Stampin’ Up!

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers are on sale this month – Buy Three, Get One Free!  It’s a great time to stock up.  Every one of the beautiful sets contains high-quality, two-sided papers you can use in so many ways.  My card features the Petal Promenade Designer Series paper — in fact, I used two sides of one beautiful design!

Broadway Birthday - Rose Glimmer paper - Petal Pink Jewels - Rose metallic Thread - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin - Stampin' Up!

The background of the card is a marbleized pattern that creates a neutral, beautiful look of natural stone and is easy to build upon.  I then made a banner about 2 3/4″ wide, using the opposite side of the marble paper, a beautiful floral pattern, with a Soft Suede banner beneath that is 1/8″ larger.  You can make your banner as wide as you’d like, depending on how much of the DSP you want to show, and, of course, you can use any pattern you’d like — there are so many to choose from!

I then switched gears and used the WISH thinlit die from the Broadway Birthday Photopolymer Bundle to cut out two WISH sentiments — one in Soft Suede cardstock, and one on Rose Glimmer paper — so pretty and sparkly.  I used some all-purpose glue to attach them to the card front, offsetting them slightly.

I stamped the “Make A” sentiment from the bundle onto a scrap of the marbleized DSP, and then punched it out using the Duet Banner punch.  I LOVE punches — so quick and easy!  The banner is popped up with dimensionals.  I cut several strands of the Rose Metallic Thread and one strand of Nature’s Twine and made a bow, attaching with a glue dot.  I rather like the different textures and LOVE the sparkly metallic thread against the natural-looking twine!  Finally, I added two Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems.

This card is perfect for that flirty, feminine female birthday card — any age!  And I let the DSP do all the work.  Every pattern is useable and gorgeous!
