Pals August Blog Hop: Cut It Out!

2018-pbh-pineapplepunch 200 x 200Welcome to the Pals August 2018 Blog Hop. We love to cut it out so this month our creations feature our favorite “cuts” using punches, Framelits, and Thinlits from the current Stampin’ Up! catalog.

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

P.S. You're The Best 2 - Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper - Copper Thread - Stitched Shapes Framelits - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin' - Stampin' Up!

My project uses the new stamp set “P.S. You’re the Best” from the Annual Catalog.  I love the look of the old typewriter, and the fonts in this set are really pretty.  Notice there is a background texture stamp, along with other stamps you can use to decorate the ‘paper’ coming out of the typewriter or to create fun backgrounds.

p.s. you're the best stamp set

I started this card with a Thick Whisper White card base of 8 1/2″ X 11″, scored at 4 1/4″.  I adhered a panel cut at 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″ from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper in the pretty marble stone pattern.  Though it is hard to photograph, it provides a nice textured background.

I cut two of the largest circles using the Stitched Shape Framlits Dies — one using the patterned piece from Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, and one using Coastal Cabana card stock.  On the Coastal Cabana piece, I used Coastal Cabana ink to stamp various bits of alphabet background, both full strength and stamped off once.

I then stamped the typewriter stamp on a scrap piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in Gray Granite ink.  Then I used the small background texture stamp across the ‘keys’ of the typewriter in stamped-off Coastal Cabana.  I used Calypso Coral ink to stamp my sentiment across the typewriter paper.  I then “fussy cut” the typewriter out and attached Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.

To assemble the card, I simply layered the two circle cut-outs on the card panel, and then used some Copper Metallic Thread to adhere to the back of the typewriter before popping it down onto the panel.  I stamped the “I love you” sentiment right onto the card panel.  Doesn’t that granite-styled Designer Series Paper add some nice texture?  I finished the card off with some pearlized embellishments from the Share What You Love Suite.  The products needed to make this project are at the bottom of this post!
