An Incredible Offer from Me!

Hi again —

Looking through the discounted Stampin’ Up! products (sales starts today, Thursday, May 30!), I was struck with an idea.  My FAVORITE kit from Occasions Catalog was the Incredible Like You kit!  The cards are darling!  You create 16 (four of each design) of these colorful, fresh beauties!  There is glimmer paper on each to add a darling sparkle!  And catch those cute envelopes.

Incredible LIke You - Set 2 - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin' - Stampin' Up!

So here’s the deal:  If you purchase this kit at the discounted price, I will lend you my stamp set (called Incredible Like You), to create the kit.  Just a little additional savings.  By the way, I’ve used the stamp set over and over, so it’s worth considering purchasing that for yourself as well.  But at any rate, you can borrow my stamp set to complete your kit and return when you are through!

Here it is — darling, right?

Pals May Blog Hop: More Than One Score!

2019 May Blog Hop 300

Welcome to the Pals’ May Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects with “More Than One Score.” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Today, my project features beautiful products available until June 3, while supplies last.  NOW is the time to get this timeless bundle called the Petal Palette bundle, featuring a double stamp set and dies.

Petal Palette Bundle - Fancy Fold - Stitched Nested Labels Dies - Hearth - Frosted Flower Embellishments - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

A HUGE Thank you to Jackie Bultje at the Pampered Stamper for her design of this fun fold called the Double Point card.  Go HERE to see her video!  She does it much better than I could!  Honestly — you will learn how to make this beautiful fold using Jackie’s video in no time at all!  The main colors are Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, and Fresh Fig, all coordinating with the Floral Romance Designer Series Papers.  I stamped the beautiful flower cluster from the Petal Palette stamp set in Memento Ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, and then used the Aqua Painters to color.  I added some Wink of Stella to give the little cluster a ‘sparkle.’

Petal Palette Bundle - Fancy Fold - Stitched Nested Labels Dies - Frosted Flower Embellishments - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Notice that the card has three layers:  the front using the Stitched Nested Framelits Dies, then the panel with the sentiment you see when you open up the diecut piece, and THEN a little surprise — a back card that opens up.  I left it blank for the sender to write a note.  Though difficult to photograph, it’s really fun to open this card and discover all the delightful parts to it!

This Double Point card is super fun to make, and a work of art to send to someone you care about.   Try it yourself if you haven’t already.  The links to all the products used in this project are found at the bottom of the post!

Happy Wedding Day – Something Old and Something New!

When creating a custom wedding card, the best part of the process is deciding on the ‘style’ of the couple you’re celebrating.  The groom for the wedding today is the son of a lifelong friend, so I knew I wanted it to be something special.

Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper - Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

I used a card base from a new product coming out in the Annual Catalog, June 4.  They’re called the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards and Tin.  You get 12 laser-cut cards and beautiful envelopes.

Tin

You open up the inside to put in the color of cardstock you want, then simply adhere with glue.  Super pretty in Very Vanilla!!

The larger sentiment (from a retired SU! stamp set called “Big News,” along with the beautiful laser cut paper speaks for itself on the front.  To finish the inside of the card, I popped up two butterflies from the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Papers.  The punch makes it so easy!  Here’s the bundle, available now!

These papers are so beautiful!

The Bird Ballad Suite, coming out soon in the new catalog, is going to be an instant hit.  I can’t wait to show you more products from it!  Have a great weekend!

Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin - Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper - Purple Posy - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Some Retiring, Some Returning, and a Sneak Peek!

Today I’d love to show you a card made with some GREAT retiring products, some FABULOUS returning product, AND a sneak peek at a new stamp set coming out June 4 in the new Annual Catalog.

Genuine Gems - Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper - Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Genuine Gems - Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper - Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper - Grapefruit Grove - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

There’s no doubt that the Butterfly Gala punch is going to be around for a long time.  In combination with the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, it’s a snap to create cards super quick.  You simply punch out the beautiful butterflies on the paper, and BAM — you have the start of a lovely card!  The Gingham Gala cardstock is retiring, and will be greatly missed by a lot of crafters.  Gingham is so ON TREND!  I used Grapefruit Grove and Balmy Blue to make my cards, along with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from a new stamp set.  Presenting “Genuine Gems” from the 2019-20 Annual Catalog, coming out in June:

Genuine Gems

A great message, don’t you think?  I love them all in this sentiment-only set!  Below are the products I used for these cards.  Stay tuned for June 4 when we can all get the great new products in the Annual Catalog!

I Love a Great Punch!

When it comes to creating cards, I LOVE the quick and easy way, and that includes a good punch! The Cake Builder Punch and Piece of Cake bundle are back in stock, AND returning in the New Annual Catalog.   BUT — you can Save 10% on the Cake Builder Punch and coordinating Piece of Cake stamp set when you purchase them as a bundle now, because they will not be bundled in the new catalog.

Cake punch

Another advantage?  Take this fun set, add new Designer Series papers and new birthday sentiments coming out in the New Annual Catalog, and you’ve got even more options.

Here is one thing I love to do!  I love to take a photo from the catalog, and then adapt it to what I make myself!  it’s called CASEING (Copy And Share Everything!), and our catalogs are full of inspiration for us to use!

2019_OCC_P18A

The card above on the left — how fun!  Below are the ingredients and other info:

Page 18: Occasions Catalog

Stamps: Piece of Cake

Paper: Coastal Cabana, Powder Pink, and Whisper White  Cardstock; Sweet Shop DSP

Ink/Coloring Tools: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana,  Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, and Stazon Ink Pads; Clear Wink of Stella, Glimmer Brush; Blender Pen

Accessories: Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins

Adhesives: Dimensionals, Mini-Glue Dots, and SNAIL

Tools: Cake Builder & Circle Punches; Striped

Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:  Scallops

Non-SU products: Sewing Machine

Technique: Use Blender Pen to add ink to image. Use Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to lollipops.

Here’s the trick:  Don’t have the same Designer Series Paper?  Just switch it to one you DO have!  If you don’t have the exact inkpads, then just use other colors that you like together. If you don’t have the same Embossing Folder (TIEF), use any — no rules!  I have never used a sewing machine to stitch across a card but I know some of you are excellent seamstresses – try it!!  How fun!

Here are some more ideas with this cute bundle:

This last one uses a monochromatic background with cakes stamped on it.  Then layer vellum, some leaves, and a cake on top.  Love the soft colors!
