A Wedding Card with a Beautiful Shine!

I created a monochromatic wedding card using some brand new Designer Series Papers that you will see very soon in our new July–December 2022 Mini Catalog. I can’t wait until you get yours!

Here’s my card:

The fun thing about this card, a design from Susan Stampfield, (Crafter Extraordinaire), is that it has an elegant envelope flap that opens to reveal the inside message of your card. The flap tucks underneath the sentiment piece — so pretty when you use one of Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series papers.

This set of papers is called Splendid Day, and the entire suite of products will be available to you on July 1 — it is SO pretty, with beautiful shades of Soft Seafoam, Fresh Freesia, and other metallics as well. One side of each paper has a beautiful shine to it — LOVE it!

This card starts with a base of Soft Seafoam, and uses Soft Seafoam ink as well to keep the effect monochromatic. This color is hard to photograph, but it is so pretty and elegant for a wedding card. Here are the measurements:

  • Colored Cardstock, or Basic White: 5 ¼” x 8” scored at 4” for the card base
  • Colored Cardstock: 4 ¼” x 5 ½” for the layer behind the card
  • Splendid Day Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4” x 4”, scored diagonally. (from new holiday catalog). Attach to the back of the white card base BEFORE you adhere it to the back colored cardstock panel.

Make sure you stamp and decorate the UNDERSIDE of the card — it will fold up and tuck under the envelope flat. (It’s kind of the opposite of what you would normally do!)

Use any diecuts for the sentiment.  I used a sentiment from the Hues of Happiness Photopolymer stamp set. Before attaching to the Seafoam card back, I also stamped some pretty roses from that stamp set onto the card. When you adhere the sentiment piece to the card, make sure you keep it low on the card front, so your flap can tuck into the back of the sentiment panel.

The new July-December Holiday Mini Catalog should be arriving at your door any day if you are a customer of mine! Although I can’t show you any part of the inside contents, here’s the cover of the new catalog!

  1. Mary, I love when you give us the written measurements for the project so we have our model we made in class and the “pattern” to create another. You are an awesome teacher and friend. Thank you also for the special gift we received from you. Happy stamping. Bev
