I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…you don’t have to buy everything in the catalog to enjoy the different designer series papers. The “Let’s Go Fishing” DSP is a prime example. I used one of the awesome designs and a very appropriate sentiment to create a ‘congratulations’ card for my stepdaughter on her recents master’s degree in Environmental Studies.
I started with a Very Vanilla card stock card base, and then added a panel of Old Olive measuring 5 1/4″ by 4″. I then cut a panel of DSP at 5 1/8″ by 3 7/8″ . Before adhering the DSP to the card front, I wrapped some Natural 1/4″ Wavy Trim twice around the paper, anchoring it at the back.
From there I used one of the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out a stitched square and stamp a sentiment from the new Layering Leaves stamp set in Old Olive ink. This set has the best sentiments for many occasions, and I love the font!
I finished off with some Adhesive Backed Solid Gems from the new catalog, and I was done. Simple, yet so fun for my stepdaughter who LOVES fish. Here’s a cute pic of her as an added bonus!
