Regency Park for a Mystery Challenge

We recently had a Mystery Card Challenge on our Up North Stampin’ Gang Facebook Page. Thanks to Michelle Laliberte Quinno for the layout of this fun card. Here is what I did for my Mystery Card!

I used three different patterns from the Regency Park 6″ by 6″ Designer Series Papers. These springy patterns are so fun!

I started out with a Basic White card base, cut at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Here are the rest of the measurements:

  • Colored Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 11” SCORED at 5-1/2”
  • THREE different pieces of coordinating DSP:

¾” x 4-1/4”, 1-3/4” x 5-1/4”, 2 1/2″ x 3 1/4″

  • 2-1/2” Colored Cardstock Circle (Same as your card base (or whatever sized circle you want)

Arrange the DSP panels, one on top of the next, starting with the left side of the card. Punch out a Night of Navy circle and adhere. Cut out a tag from the Tailor Made Tags Dies and stamp a sentiment. Add a bow of baker’s twine with a glue dot, and a couple of sparkly sequins!

More with the Hello, Irresistible Papers

The Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Papers, found in the Online Exclusives section at stampinup.com, are so beautiful, from the Flirty Flamingo papers I featured in my last post to the rich colors of Pretty Peacock in this card. (Don’t forget, Pretty Peacock is coming back with our Color Refresh in May)!

I used three different patterns in this lovely blue-green shade. I love how they all work together! These papers have a beautiful soft look, and some give the impression of the Emboss Resist technique.

Thanks to Brian King at stampwithbrian.com for the inspiration and layout of this fun card. I started out with a Basic White card base, cut at 4 1/4 by 11″, scored at 5 1/2″. Here are the rest of the measurements:

  • Basic White Panels: 4 3/4″ by 2″, 4″ by 3 1/2″
  • Hello, Irresistible Panels: 5 1/4″ by 4″, 4 5/8″ by 1 7/8″, 3 7/8″ by 3 3/8″
  • Pretty Peacock — a scrap large enough for the Circle Punch of your choice
  • Fine Shimmer Paper — enough to die cut a butterfly

I adhered the panels together and then adhered to the card front. I popped the circle up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then added the butterfly with glue dots. I finished with some pretty Iridescent Flat Pearls.

Don’t forget, the Hello, Irresistible 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is part of the recent Online Exclusives offering – and it is GORGEOUS! GET IT NOW! 🙂

These Papers Really Are Irresistible!

I finally had a chance to create using the designer series papers receiving rave reviews: The Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Papers, found in the Online Exclusives section at stampinup.com. Here’s my project! Keep scrolling for the instructions on how to make this yourself!

These papers have a beautiful soft look, and some give the impression of the Emboss Resist technique. But you don’t have to do anything — just use these lovely papers, and the effect is gorgeous!

Thanks to Sue Vine at Miss Pink Craft Spot for the inspiration for my card. I started out with a Basic White card base, cut at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I cut another Basic White panel at 5 1/2 by 4 1/4″ and ran it through the Cut and Emboss Machine using the Cane Weave Embossing Folder. I then took the second largest die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies and positioned it to make a diagonal cut across the embossed panel, like so:

Next, I trimmed the bottom portion of the embossed piece straight across the bottom so there was a bigger gap between the two white panels in order for more DSP to show through.

I then cut a panel of DSP at 4 1/4 by 4″ or so to adhere in the middle of the card front. Then I added the two embossed panels to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some dimension.

Lastly, I stamped a sentiment in Flirty Flamingo from the Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set onto a white scrap and punched it out using the Lovely Label Pick a Punch. I LOVE this for quick and easy sentiments! I added some Iridescent Rhinestones and White Baker’s Twine to finish it off!

Don’t forget, the Hello, Irresistible 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is part of the recent Online Exclusives offering – and it is GORGEOUS! GET IT NOW! 🙂

Save those 1″ Strips!

Hi, Stampers! I created some fun cards using1″ strips from the Regency Park Designer Series Papers. I love the different color combinations in these papers. The patterns are so fun and spring-like, and I do hate wasting any beautiful paper! So I made four card using four combos:

This card layout is from Mary Fish from Stampin’ Pretty. I started with a card base of 8 1/2″ by 11″, folded at 4 1/4″. I then added a different colored cardstock panel of 4″ by 5 1/4″ on top of that. From there, I took a panel of Basic White cardstock on which I would adhere the strips, cut at 3 3/4″ by 5″, which would be trimmed down later.

Then I cut THREE strips of THREE different coordinating designer papers at 1″ wide. From my samples, you can see how they fit onto the card. Some can be cut at 1 by 5″ and a few more like 1 by 3″ — it’s NOT an exact science haha!

I then started adhering the strips to the white panel which has not been attached to the card yet! I placed them, just ‘eyeing up’ the gap between each strip. I started with these four, (see dotted line below), and then pieced the others in. Once you get the hang of it, it goes fast for multiple cards.

The strips will hang over the edges of your white panel. When all the strips are applied, turn over, and trim the strips to the edges of the white panel, and adhere to the card front!

I used the Lovely Labels Pick-a-Punch to punch out the sentiments after stamping with the large THANKS sentiment from the Season of Chic stamp set. So nice to be able to choose two different designs on the punch! And so quick and easy!

I tied big bows of white baker’s twine behind each sentiment and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added some various sequins I had in my embellishment stash, and done!

The Regency Park designer series papers have such beautiful floral patterns; they’re so much fun to mix and match!
