Pals November Blog Hop: Home for the Holidays

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Home for the Holidays. We really hope that you enjoy and inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I created a fun and easy card using alternative colors, with the fun and whimsical “Whimsy and Wonder” Designer Series Papers.

Over a card base of Mint Macaron, I adhered a panel of Basic White card stock at 4″ x 5 1/4″. I then cut three strips of Whimsy & Wonder cardstock in strips of 1″ (the middle one is a little larger – 1 1/4″) by 5″ and adhered them to the white panel.

I used my Cut n Emboss machine to cut out the largest die from the Tailor Made Tags dies and a Polish Pink “Happy” from the Words of Cheer bundle. I stamped a “Holidays” onto the tag with Polish Pink ink, and then adhered the “Happy” and a Wonderful Snowflake to the tag.

From there, I added a couple of In-Color Jewels, and some In-Color 3/8″ ribbon, along with white baker’s twine, and I was done! This card actually came together quite easily, and would be a good one for mass producing, if you wanted to. I hope you’ve enjoyed my Christmas card using these beautiful alternate colors!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on [second Wednesday]. Our theme will be “My Favorite Things” with our design team showcasing some of their favorite products from any catalog they choose.

Until then, have fun in your craft space. And HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

New Products: A Beautiful Walk through Eden’s Garden

Stampin’ Up! is introducing a brand new collection of products as a Sneak Peek to its upcoming catalog. These products are part of a promotion that runs from November 2, 2021 until January 3, 2022. While the bundle will be in Stampin’ Up!’s upcoming catalog, here’s the FUN PART: some of these products will only be available during this promotion, so now is the time to snatch them up!

Why the name “Eden’s Garden?” Here’s how Stampin’ Up! introduces Eden’s Garden: “The tale of the Garden of Eden transcends the boundaries of a single belief system. Numerous accounts and adaptations of Eden’s events have appeared in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, legends and lore, ancient mythology, and more! No matter how the story is shared, the essence of Eden remains the same: it’s a place of paradise. Filled with fruitful and flourishing foliage, stillness and serenity, and an air of mystery, Eden is an ethereal utopia!”

Bookbinder Cards from Stampin’ Up!

I had fun trying a new fun fold (to me!) that I saw on a post from Rachel Tessman at Stamp Your Heart Out. They are a fun twist on an easy card, but do add a bit of flare! I have included two cards here for you:

The two cards are prepared using the same measurements:

  • Basic White Cardstock: 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4” and at 5”
  • Scrap for stamping and die-cutting sentiment piece
  • Gold Glimmer Paper or Champagne Foil paper (both retired) But you can use any specialty paper!
  • Designer series paper (Blackberry Beauty or Whimsy & Wonder): 4” x 5-1/2” cut parallel to long side in on the left side at ½”

The key to this design is to adhere the small scored section on the front flap of the card TO the card base. You then create a ‘bound’ effect. The DSP panels were simply adhered to the front, and then I added two layers of a sentiment panel from the Stitched So Sweetly dies using a couple of retired glimmer/foil papers. You can use whatever you’d like! Here is a view from the top:

I hope you enjoyed my versions of the Bookbinder Card. Give one a try — they are quite easy and quite add Click below at the bottom of this post to start shopping with the products I used to make this project.

Words of Cheer, Take Three!

This is my third post using the Words of Cheer stamp set and the Stampin’ Blends. In my set of three cards, each is treated a little differently as far as colors and layout. It was so fun to get my Stampin’ Blends out and just enjoy the act of coloring and shading with our beautiful stamps. Here’s my third card:

I used a base of Basic White cardstock, and then cut a panel from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper at 5 1/4″ x 4 ” and adhered it to the front. I cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock at 4 1/4″ by 2 3/4″ and then ran it through my Cut & Emboss Machine using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered that to the top part of the front panel. I used a 1″ x 4 1/4″ strip from the Be Dazzling Specialty DSP and adhered it to the front at the meeting of the two panels.

I then stamped a flower bouquet from the Words of Cheer stamp set on a scrap of Basic White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and used the Stampin’ Blends listed below to color in my bouquet. I then ran it through my Cut N’ Emboss machine using the Bark 3D embossing folder. The little bit of texture adds so much!

I stamped a sentiment from the Words of Cheer stamp set on a Basic White scrap of cardstock using the Evening Evergreen stamp pad. I snipped the ends of diagonally, and popped it onto the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed my THIRD version of the Words of Cheer Stamp Set! Click below at the bottom of this post to start shopping with the products I used to make this project. Check back tomorrow to see my third version of a card using my Blends and the Words of Cheer Stamp Set!

Words of Cheer, Take Two!

This is my second post using the Words of Cheer stamp set and the Stampin’ Blends. In my set of three cards, each is treated a little differently as far as colors and layout. It was so fun to get my Stampin’ Blends out and just enjoy the act of coloring and shading with our beautiful stamps. Here’s my second card:

I used a base of Basic White cardstock, and then cut a panel from the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper at 5 1/4″ x 4 ” and adhered it to the front.. I used another 1″ x 4 1/4″ strip from the Tidings of Christmas DSP and adhered it to the front as well.

I then stamped a flower bouquet from the Words of Cheer stamp set on a scrap of Basic White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and used the Stampin’ Blends listed below to color in my bouquet. I then fussy cut it and ran it through my Cut N Emboss machine using the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. The little bit of texture adds so much!

I cut out a Happy die in Flirty Flamingo and a piney background in Evening Evergreen card stock. I used the Holiday Rhinestones to create a little bling accent at the center of each flower. So easy and fun! Lastly, I stamped the HOLIDAY stamp directly onto the front of the card with Evening Evergreen ink.

I hope you enjoyed my SECOND version of the Words of Cheer Stamp Set! Click below at the bottom of this post to start shopping with the products I used to make this project. Check back tomorrow to see my third version of a card using my Blends and the Words of Cheer Stamp Set!
