A Thoughtful Journey FRIEND Card

I recently took part in a Pals Virtual Swap, featuring all new products from the 2024-25 Annual catalog. I combined the beautiful Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper and a new set of dies from the annual catalog called Friends for Life. Here are two variations of the same style card:

I started with a card base of Basic White cardstock, cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2,” scored at 4 1/4.” I then added a panel of colored cardstock to go with whatever paper I chose from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Papers measuring 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8.” They’re all beautiful, so you can’t go wrong! I then cut a third panel of coordinating coordinating card stock at 5 1/4″ x 4.” Now I had a card base and two cardstock panels, each 1/8″ smaller.

I then cut a panel of DSP at 5 1/4″ x 4,” keeping in mind that I was really only going to use the ‘sky’ portion of the scene on the paper. I then took the friends die from the Friends for Life Dies and cut the word out in the middle of the paper. I also cut out one more ‘friend’ word from the die on a scrap piece of coordinating cardstock. This second word would add height and dimension to the top ‘friend’ when I placed it back in.

I then cut the lower portion of the paper away from the top so that part of the ‘friend’ cutout would be remaining, and part of the friend cutout would be gone. I adhered that trimmed piece of DSP onto the smallest panel of cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment onto that piece of cardstock, and then adhered the whole panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I adhered the top ‘friend’ cut-out word to the bottom cut-out word using white glue, and then glued that back onto the card, fitting it into its proper place. You can see how it now stood up a little from the card, making it more visible. I finished the card with three Iridescent Faceted Gems, and I was done!

Below is one more variation using a diecut for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this fun card using the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Papers. All the products I used can be found below. Click on one to start shopping with me!
