Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Winter Wonderland. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My Up North Stampin’ Gang Host Club just wrapped up after an 8-month run. We concluded with a Winter Sampler that can be displayed in our homes all winter long!

The sampler is 9″ by 9,” and fits beautifully into a white shadowbox frame of the same dimensions. Here are the basic measurements:

• Basic White cardstock:  9 x 9″   
• Misty Moonlight cardstock  8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
• Basic White cardstock:  8 1/4 x 8 1/4″
• Small squares of Pretty Peacock card stock:   2 3/8″ x 2 3/8″
• Small squares of Designer Series Paper: 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″  (use any paper combination you’d like!)
• Pretty Peacock cardstock rectangles:   2 3/8″ x 4 7/8″  
• Rectangles of Designer Series Paper:  2 1/4″ x 4 3/4″  

The sampler is easy to assemble; after you choose your cardstock and DSP designs, it’s a matter of decorating each square or rectangle. I tried to use as many current products as possible, although a few items are retired in order to stick with my winter theme. Here’s what I did:

• The DSP is from the Sentimental Christmas and Winter Meadow sets.
• The skates and sled are from the Sophisticated Sled bundle, created with cardstock and silver foil, with Linen Thread added for dimensions.
• The snowman is inked with Misty Moonlight and Lost Lagoon (for his hat) and punched with the Snowman Builder Punch. I embossed the paper behind the snowman with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder. The sparkly snowflakes are from the Frozen Edges dies, and the trees are from the Snowman Magic Bundle.
• The sentiment is heat embossed in white using a sentiment from the Frozen Edges bundle.
• The icicles on the bottom left are cut from the Frozen Edges dies in a retired sparkly shiny paper, and the bird is from the October Paper Pumpkin Winter Nests kit.
• The wreath is stamped in Pretty Peacock and colored in with Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. The ribbon is retired, but of course, any ribbon is a good ribbon!
• I embellished the sampler with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Samplers are so fun because there is no limit to the imagination and variations you can use. AND they make great gifts! I hope you enjoyed my project, and I wish ALL of you the Happiest of Holidays!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Orange Theory. We hope to inspire you with our creations using the color orange today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My card is made with Pumpkin Pie and Peach Pie, two of the many beautiful shades of orange from Stampin’ Up!’s colors. I love how the glimmer paper adds a warm accent behind the gorgeous autumn scene — the card almost glows when you see it!

Here are the materials and measurements:

• Very Vanilla cardstock base of 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2,” scored at 4 1/4″ to make an A2 card
• Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Papers (brown plaid panel) cut at 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
• Two large circles from the Spotlight on Nature dies, one from a scene in the Splendid Autumn DSP set, one in Peach Pie Glimmer Paper
• Friends for Life dies

The card went together quite quickly, and would be easy to create in multiples, using any color combination you choose. I cut the Very Vanilla card base, along with the plaid panel of Sweet Days of Autumn DSP. I adhered the DSP and then did some die cutting with the Cut & Emboss Machine.

• I cut a Friend sentiment out from the Friends for Life dies — the top one in Pumpkin Pie with the Foam Adhesive Sheet under it, and the bottom base die in Peach Pie. The Foam Adhesive sheet causes the top lettering to have a nice 3D effect.
• I then cut two small hearts with the Peach Pie Glimmer paper to use as accents.
• I cut two of the largest circle pattern from the Spotlight on Nature Dies, and adhered them, offsetting the top one slightly.

• I finished the card by adhering the FRIEND word onto the card, and accenting with two sparkly Peach Pie Hearts.

The new Book Treat Boxes, found in the August-December Holiday Mini Catalog, are perfect for the Halloween season and these adorable new papers found in the Online Exclusives section. I love them so much! Here is my Halloween Book Treat Box, ready for giving to my favorite ghoul or goblin!

The Book Treat Boxes assemble very easily, and come complete with strong adhesive strips already on the box. Just fold all the score lines, then lift the strips of tape and fasten together. Here are more details about them;

* 10 stampable boxes
* Folded box size: 3″ x 4″ x 1″
* Food safe

• I chose the book pattern of the Designer Papers in Halloween Spells. Aren’t they all just darling? I cut a strip of DSP at 7 1/4 by 4″ wide, and then cut one strip of coordinating DSP 1” x 2 3/4,” scored at 1.”
• Fold both pieces of the book box at all score marks.  Put together the bottom part of the box (not the lid with the tab) and create the bottom part of the box, making sure the little side tabs are tucked in under the sides when you use the adhering strips.  
• Laying the lip piece down without folding, wrap DSP around the book, and adhere so one side is flush with the edge of the book on the tab side.
• Trim the DSP around the book while laying it on the opposite side so you can see the excess.  
• Now you have a white tab sticking out. Adhere the small strip of DSP to the box closure tab so the 1” scorelines line up and the cardstock tab is flush with the designer series paper on the box. Turn the box over and trim the excess cardstock piece away from the box closure using a pair of paper snips.
• Your entire box top is now covered with DSP, and can be folded at score lines.
• Decorate as desired. I used two circles from the Spotlight on Nature dies, the bigger one in the Gorgeous Grape DSP pattern, and one in Basic White. I stamped my cute Halloween sentiment using a retired stamp set, and added a cute sparkly ribbon (retired) that I shred at the ends of the ribbon. Feel free to use any Halloween products you have! After popping up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the Grape circle, you see that I can tuck in my tab under the white circle.
