Pals July Blog Hop: My Favorite Thing!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is our Favorites from the New Catalog. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My project was created from a suite found in the new 2024-25 Annual Catalog: the Full of Life Suite Collection, found on p. 42-43. This bright and colorful suite, complete with fun, scripty fonts, dynamic and modern designer series papers, and fun dies appealed to me from my first dive into the catalog! Here’s my card:

The negative space created by using the diecut on the white panel is completed by replacing the space with a different color. It also gives it a ‘shadowbox’ look. Here’s how I did it:

  • Basic White card base of 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2,” scored at 4 1/4″
  • Coastal Cabana Panel 5 3/8″ by 4 1/8″
  • Full of Life Designer Series paper panel, 5 1/4″ by 4″
  • Basic White Panel, 3 1/2″ by 5 1/4″

Directions:

  • Adhere the DSP to the Coastal Cabana panel, and then adhere to the card base.
  • Take the Basic White panel and cut out a leaf die toward the bottom of the white panel. Then cut a leaf die from Coastal Cabana and one from the Full of Life DSP. Stack the white diecut underneath the Coastal Cabana diecut to give it some additional thickness, and then add a small bit of white glue to attached it inside the cut-out hole you created on the Basic White Panel. Use white glue to adhere the DSP leaf cutout to the panel as well.
  • Stamp a sentiment from the Friends for Life stamp set onto the Basic White panel, and then pop the panel onto the card case with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add some Iridescent Faceted Gems to finish the card and give it some sparkle! Have you SEEN this gems? they’re so delightful and detailed!

This card goes together quickly, and is elegant in its simplicity, in my opinion. Here is the entire suite, and you can, of course look online to see the separate designs of these luscious papers:

I hope you enjoyed seeing my project. All the products I used can be found below – just click on one to shop with me!

We have even more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Summer Vacations.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Crafty Collaborations June Virtual Swap

I recently took part in the June Crafty Collaborations Virtual Swap. It’s peony season up here in Northern Minnesota, so I decided to create a card using the Poised Peony Stamp Set.

Here are the Measurements:

  • Card Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2,” scored at 4 1/4″
  • Layer 1: Designer Series Paper strip 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Layer 1 Also: 3″ x 5 1/4″ Lost Lagoon panel, embossed with embossing folder
  • Layer 2: Deckled Circles Die, 6th from the center
  • Layer 3: Basic White Cardstock for inside of card: 5 1/4″ x 4″

Directions:

  • Cut card base in Lost Lagoon to A2 size; score and fold in half.
  • Adhere Designer Series Paper strip to the left side of card front. Emboss Lost Lagoon panel with embossing folder using Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
  • Adhere embossed panel to fit on card base beside DSP strip with equal space on all sides.
  • Cut Deckled Circle die in Lost Lagoon. Heat emboss peony stamp and sentiment on circle using white embossing powder.
  • Using the Petal Pink ink pad, and your fingers, ‘dye’ a length of white baker’s twine to the proper shade of Petal Pink.
  • Trim as desired and loop behind the sentiment circle, using tape adhesive. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to Deckled Circle sentiment and add to card front. Add embellishments as desired to finish card.

There are so many ideas swimming in my head using their beautiful and simple Poised Peony stamp set. Get yours now to enjoy this summer! All the products above can be found below. Just click on one to start shopping with me!

A Wedding Card with Shine!

Hi, Stampers! I was recently asked to create a wedding card for a special couple, and I turned to the Friends for Life bundle for my design. I also used some retired Holographic Specialty paper from Stampin’ Up! to add some extra shine to these fun hearts! Here’s my card:

The card started out with a Basic White card base. I then cut and embossed another Basic White panel with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder to give a little pretty texture. I adhered that to the card base. I then used the hearts die from the Friends for Life bundle with the holographic paper to cut out to hearts – one solid, and one with the pretty leaf cut-outs. These dies are so fun, and have a plethora of possiblilities. Have you seen them? Here is the bundle:

At the bottom right, you can see the two hearts dies I used. I adhered one to the card with adhesive tape and popped the other on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, making sure to keep the cutouts intact. For a different look, you can remove those cutouts. From there, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set and cut it out with the die from the Friends for Life bundle. I added some pretty embellishments called Iridescent Faceted Gems, and I was done. It’s very sparkly and shiny in person – perfect for a wedding!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my project. All the products I used can be found below – just click on one to shop with me!

The June Paper Pumpkin Kit = Sweet and Summery!

I had a bushel of fun creating the June Paper Pumpkin kit! It was full of ingredients to make nine beautiful cards, complete with watercolor fruit images and sparkly glitter sentiments! I had fun mixing and matching all the ingredients and adding to the nine card bases. Here are some of the cards I made!

You might be asking, What is Paper Pumpkin?

Paper Pumpkin is our monthly One-Stop Box™ that offers a unique variety of paper projects for subscribers of any skill level to enjoy! These thoughtfully-themed and all-inclusive craft kits will help you to explore your creativity, try new techniques, and discover your potential in papercrafting.

You can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by going to paperpumpkin.com and completing the info. This is what I do. I can skip a month if I’m busy, suspend my subscription, or stop anytime. But why would I do any of those things? Hee hee! It’s way too much fun!

You can also buy a number of months’ worth of boxes at stampinup.com and enter the special code that gets emailed to you at paperpumpkin.com. Some people like to buy a one-month, three-month, six-month, or even twelve-month subscription for the discounted prices as you go up in months, OR to receive stampin’ rewards because the Paper Pumpkins are a part of a Stampin’ Up! order.

To get the July kit, you must subscribe or order by July 10! We have seen a few sneak peeks of the kit, and it’s gorgeous! Go HERE today!

What Would YOU Put in this Lavender Gift Box?

I created this gift box with a darling bonus CARD on the outside, inspired by a reel from Melissa Faust. Wouldn’t this be fun to gift to someone, perhaps with cute tissue paper and a gift card? Or how about giving someone a cute set of thank-you cards or notecards?

I focused on the beautiful Painted Lavender Bundle and Perennial Lavender DSP.

  • Cut a piece of 7 3/4” x 12” DSP. Watch if there is a pattern that you make sure the pattern goes up and down on the 12″ side.
  • Score on long side at 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 10, 11”
  • Score on short side at 1 and 6 3/4”
  • Burnish all the score lines and then put the box together — watch the reel to get a better idea of how it goes together. https://www.facebook.com/reel/731134378825011
  • Next you make the card! Cut Gorgeous Grape cardstock to 8 1/2 by 4 1/4,” and fold it in half
  • Cut a panel of Highland Heather cardstock at 4 x 4” and Basic White 3 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • Stamp and decorate the Basic White panel before adhering both panels to the card base.
  • Add a Paper Butterfly accent after using a small Blending Brush to color it in with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. Add some Faceted Gems, and you are done!

I know the reel goes quickly, but it gives a good peek at how the box goes together. You can even stop and start the reel if you’d like! I hope you enjoyed this fun gift box using the Painted Lavender Bundle and Perennial Lavender DSP. All the products I used can be found below. Click on one to start shopping with me!

A Thoughtful Journey FRIEND Card

I recently took part in a Pals Virtual Swap, featuring all new products from the 2024-25 Annual catalog. I combined the beautiful Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper and a new set of dies from the annual catalog called Friends for Life. Here are two variations of the same style card:

I started with a card base of Basic White cardstock, cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2,” scored at 4 1/4.” I then added a panel of colored cardstock to go with whatever paper I chose from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Papers measuring 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8.” They’re all beautiful, so you can’t go wrong! I then cut a third panel of coordinating coordinating card stock at 5 1/4″ x 4.” Now I had a card base and two cardstock panels, each 1/8″ smaller.

I then cut a panel of DSP at 5 1/4″ x 4,” keeping in mind that I was really only going to use the ‘sky’ portion of the scene on the paper. I then took the friends die from the Friends for Life Dies and cut the word out in the middle of the paper. I also cut out one more ‘friend’ word from the die on a scrap piece of coordinating cardstock. This second word would add height and dimension to the top ‘friend’ when I placed it back in.

I then cut the lower portion of the paper away from the top so that part of the ‘friend’ cutout would be remaining, and part of the friend cutout would be gone. I adhered that trimmed piece of DSP onto the smallest panel of cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment onto that piece of cardstock, and then adhered the whole panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I adhered the top ‘friend’ cut-out word to the bottom cut-out word using white glue, and then glued that back onto the card, fitting it into its proper place. You can see how it now stood up a little from the card, making it more visible. I finished the card with three Iridescent Faceted Gems, and I was done!

Below is one more variation using a diecut for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this fun card using the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Papers. All the products I used can be found below. Click on one to start shopping with me!
