Lovely Amazing Copper!

Okay, I promise I’ll stop posting copper cards!  After this one.  This color combination of Watermelon Wonder and copper embossing is just so warm — it feels like it glows!  I used a Tip Top Taupe card base and then I cut the watermelon ‘flourish’ from the Flourishing Thinlits Diecuts using my Big Shot.  I also stamped the flourish from the coordinating stamp set called “Flourishing Phrases” in Versamark and then used copper heat embossing powder to make it seem like molten copper.  I also embossed the sentiment, from the set called “Lovely Amazing You” in copper as well.  The strip of DSP is from the ‘Affectionately Yours’ Designer Series Paper group.  Let me know if you have any questions, or want to try any of these AWESOME products yourself!

We’ll Weather it Together!

Weather Together — This set is going to be SO versatile, I can already tell, although I’ve barely had a chance to play with it!  I decided on a shaker card, hoping for a cheery, encouraging tone to this first card.  I used Peekaboo Peach cardstock for the background, and Perfect Plum to stamp with black ink for the umbrella.  I used some of the fabulous sequins from the June Paper Pumpkin kit to put into the ‘shaker’ part of the card.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Playful Palette series — such bright and fun designs!  If you want further instructions on how to make a shaker card, just email me using the link on the right!  I’d love to help you make your first shaker card.  After that — believe me, you’ll be hooked!Weather Together Up North Stampin' In Colors Stampin' Up!

Hello, Jar of Love!

FINALLY, I was able to crack open my Jar of Love Bundle — the beautiful Jar of Love stamp set along with the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies, both from Stampin’ Up!, of course!  This card is made from a step card pattern, easily found on the Internet or Pinterest.  It was a blast to make, and much easier than it looks, actually.  The gold-striped Designer Series Paper on the card is actually from the Wonderland DSP from the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  I wanted something with a little shine that would match the gold-foiled “Hello” message on front of the card. The cardstock colors are Peekaboo Peach and Bermuda Bay, with Very Vanilla as the background to this gorgeous bouquet.  I used So Saffron, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, and Bermuda Bay, and Basic Black ink colors.  It was fun experimenting with the two-step flowers in this set.  For the most part, the flowers are created the the same color ink pad, simply by stamping OFF one time for the bigger part of the flower, and then using full-strength ink for the flower accents. One Sweet Cupcake!

I have to tell you — when I get hungry for cupcakes when I’m crafting, that’s a sure-fire sign that it’s one realistic-looking stamp!  This cupcake is from the new set called “Sweet Cupcake.”  I added a Stampin’ Up! Delicate White Doily and a swirl in silver foil paper from the coordinating cupcake die thinlits.  OH, and don’t forget a little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter!  Using Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo, and Chocolate Chip card stock, I’m feeling the chocolate mint deliciousness!Cupcake Chocolate Mint Up North Stampin Stampin' Up!THE Cupcake Close Up

3 X 3 Box with Notecards

I’ve made another little box with four darling notecards, perfect for giving to someone who is celebrating a special day, or who just needs a little pick-me-up.  I used the 2016-18 In Colors and the super fun papers from the Designer Series Paper called “Playful Palette” to create these cards.  The pattern for the little box is from Susan Wong, and I’ve shared the instructions she provided on her blog below.  This box should come with a warning:  Can be addictive!

A Little Box of Affection

This box with four 3″ by 3″ notecards and envelopes makes a great gift — something for a co-worker or friend that would just make their day a little brighter. The Designer Series Paper is from the Affectionately Yours set.  I love the warm tones of Watermelon Wonder with the Copper Embossing Powder.  I used the Flourishing Frames Thinlits to makes coordinating ‘flourishes’ for each notecard, and of course on the box.  The box is super easy to make.  I’ve attached the instructions from Susan Wong’s blog, where I got the inspiration for this cute little set!CopperNotecardsFlourishThinlitsCopperUpNorthStampin'StampinUp!ThoughtfulBranchesBox

Sympathy with a Copper Flourish

I played the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 308 this week, using a beautiful sketch designed by Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Ann Schach.  I used Tip Top Taupe cardstock for the base, and then added a layer of textured Pumpkin Pie card stock from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I love the added dimension!  I embossed the large floral design from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set with my FAVORITE Copper Embossing Powder on Chocolate Chip card stock.  Doesn’t it add a rich finish to this earth-toned card? The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases set as well.  I finished the card with a combination of copper metallic thread and twine.
