I created a fun little challenge card, utilizing some darling new Designer Papers called “Happy Forest Friends!” Isn’t it fun? Who wouldn’t smile when they received that sweet bear in the mail?
This card goes together very easily. Here are the measurements:
- Solid Color Card Stock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″; fold @ 4 1/4″
- Striped or other patterned DSP . 2″ x 5 1/2″
- Coordinating Cardstock piece, dry embossed or stamped with a small stamp with the same color ink as the paper (to make a background). 3″ x 3 3/4″
- Contrasting Cardstock that picks up a color from striped piece 2 1/2″ x 3″
- Basic White 2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″, 5 1/4″ x 4″ (for inside of card)
Adhere your patterned DSP (2″ x 5 1/2″) to the card across the middle of the card, from left to right. Take your dry embossed (or background stamped) panel of cardstock, and place at the top border of the card, coming down over the patterned DSP, about an inch in from the left. Adhere.
Take your ribbon, and wrap around front of card coming from the back, as well as both layers on the front, horizontally, centered in the middle of the card. Tie a bow to the right of the embossed panel. Take your white (2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″) panel and stamp! Decorate with any images and a sentiment if you so desire.
Mount your white stamped image onto your colored cardstock panel (2 1/2″ x 3″), and then attach panels to your card front over the ribbon coming around from the back, centering it over your longer strip of DSP. Use dimensionals to make the panel pop. Add the 5 1/4″ x 4″ white panel to the inside of the card, and add embellishments to front of card if you want to.
For my front, I simply fussy-cut out a bear from the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Papers — I love the bear’s cute expression! I then heat embossed a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set and used the coordinating dies to cut out the sentiment. It’s so fun!
