Pals Blog Hop: Tic Tac Toe!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, we have a Tic Tac Toe theme. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we love reading your comments. Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I chose the middle column for my ‘tic tac toe’ project. My three elements were: Dies or punch, Flowers or trees, and Birthday. It’s my mom’s 88th birthday on Tuesday, May 9, so she will have received this card by the time the blog hop goes live on Wednesday. I have been waiting patiently (I’m trying, anyway!) for my new catalog order to ship, so I decided to demonstrate how we can use wonderful online Stampin’ Up! products in different ways while we are waiting for our orders. I used the Wreath of Blooms project kit to create an alternate project: a special slimline card for Mom.

The Stampin’ Up! kits are so awesome, because they include everything we need to create the projects or cards in the kit, including a stamp set (if applicable), ink, adhesives, embellishments, everything! Here is the Wreath of Blooms kit, and everything you’ll receive when you purchase the kit.

To make my slimline card, I started out by creating the flowers that were intended for the wreath, per instructions. Because the Saffron ‘loopy’ flower is quite 3D, I decided not to use it for my card. I also punched out the larger Garden Green leaves, and a couple of the Pear Pizzazz smaller leaves. I then cut a card base of Basic White cardstock measuring 8 1/2″ by 7 1/2″, scored at 3 3/4″.

I cut a panel of Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper to use as the card front, measuring 3 3/4″ by 8 1/2″, adhered to the front of the card base. I used this DSP, which is a combo of Boho Blue and Azure Afternoon.

Then, I put the two large background leaves down onto the card front. From there, I started arranging the flowers that I had constructed onto the front of the card, using a combination of glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I heat embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set in white embossing powder onto Night of Navy cardstock, since the insides of the flowers contain Night of Navy accents. I cut a banner at the end of each side, and mounted the banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then used some white baker’s twine for some loopy accents, and popped on some Iridescent Pastel Gems.

I hope you enjoyed my alternative use of the Wreath of Blooms kit. By the way, the wreath ring that came with the kit? Rest assured that I will use that in another upcoming project. If you’re like me, NOTHING goes to waste, and it’s fun to use products in new and exciting ways. All the products I used to make this slimline card can be found below. More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are very excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on June 14th, when our theme will be showcasing the New 2023-2025 In Colors.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.
