January Pals Blog Hop: Sale-A-Bration!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Sale-A-Bration. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! The lineup is at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

As a demonstrator, I took the opportunity to make a small pre-order in December for Sale-A-Bration, because I just had to have the TOADSTOOL GARDENS 6″ X 6″ DESIGNER SERIES PAPER, Item #164942, located on p. 8 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure. The paper coordinates beautifully with the Terrific Toadstools bundle, found on p. 53 of the January-April catalog. Here’s the first project I made with this darling paper:

The card was built with the following elements:

  • Card base in Melon Mambo at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Six strips of varied Toadstool Garden Designer Series Paper, each cut at 4 3/4″ by 1 1/2″
  • Two Basic White panels, one cut at 5 1/4″ by 3 1/4″, and one cut at 5 1/8″ by 3 1/8″
  • Circle die in Granny Apple Green using the Spotlight on Nature Dies
  • Smaller circle die using the Toadstool Garden DSP
  • One mushroom from the DSP, fussy cut
  • Basic white panel for the inside of the card

Cut each small rectangle of DSP diagonally from point to point. Flip one of the two triangles over, and decide which patterns to use and in what order for your card background. Make a small mark with a pencil at the center bottom on the long side of the smaller Basic White panel. Using that smaller white panel, adhere the triangles with the points touching your small center mark, building from one side to the other with each triangle touching the next (see below). When you are through, turn the whole thing over, and simply trim all the excess DSP from your rectangle panel with your Stampin’ Trimmer.

Next, heat emboss the sentiment stamp from new Spring Corners Photopolymer Stamp Set onto the corner of the card front. This new stamp set can be found in the brand new January-April Mini Catalog. Imagine all the fun you can have with this set!

After you’ve embossed the sentiment on the card front, adhere the panel with the triangles to the slightly larger panel of Basic White (or whatever color you choose). Now adhere this to the front of the card base. Adhere the circles together, and then attach the extra mushroom on top. I popped the circles onto the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add some Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins (ALSO A NEW SALE-A-BRATION FREE GIFT WITH PURCHASE)!

This card layout is so fun and easy. I created one more card using this design and the brand new Wildflower Birthday Suite Collection, found in the new January-April Mini Catalog. Take a look:

Don’t you love the colors of this beautiful new Suite Collection? I can’t wait until you see it in person!

I hope you enjoyed my projects. The supplies needed to make it can be found below. Just click on any product to start shopping with me!
