We recently found out that one of our teacher colleagues is leaving to teach at a different school, which is bad for us, GREAT for her new school.  She’s got a teacher’s heart, and we’ll miss her.  Here is the card I’m sending her:

I used a new stamp set from the Annual Catalog called Welcome to the Team.  Here are the stamps you get in the set:

Aren’t they awesome?  So many different work situations that you can cover in one stamp set!  I started out with a card base from the Scalloped Notecards.  You get four different colors of these cute note cards with scalloped envelopes.

I then stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and then punched it out with the new Timeless Tag punch.  I then stamped two petal stamps onto the new Perennial Essence Vellum card stock in white ink.  The ink needs to dry before you can handle it, but I do like how quick and easy it is, and it looks like you heat embossed it.

I adhered the two vellum petals together with glue dots and attached a Gold Faceted Dots.  I then adhered a couple of cute wooden butterflies to the card and used a little gold sequin trim that I had in my ‘stash.’  I like the sparkle it adds. And here’s my project!

Isn’t that Designer Series Paper scrumptious?  Each paper is more beautiful than the next.  I put a panel of the DSP onto a Blackberry Bliss card base.  I then stamped six (two for each flower) petal stamps in white craft ink directly onto the beautiful colored vellum cardstock.  I set them aside to dry.  I punched out three leaves from the green vellum cardstock with the Leaf Punch.  Love this punch!

I then made a banner with Petal Pink cardstock and Meadow Moss ink using one of the sentiment stamps from the stamp set.  Once the flowers were dry, I punched them out with the Perennial Flower Punch.  I assembled the flowers (two per flower) with glue dots, off-setting the petals to make a full flower.  I placed them onto the card panel, placed my leaves underneath, and then popped some Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins onto each flower center.  They’re so so pretty!   I tied a bow with the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim and adhered it with a glue dot.  (Don’t you just love glue dots?  I use them ALL the time!) I can’t believe July 4th is right around the corner! What happened to June? A big thank you to Jennie Portonova for the inspiration of her patriotic daisy card!  What fun to use the new Medium Daisy Punch for this project that gives thanks to all military families, past and present!

I started with a notecard-sized card (7″ x 5″, folded at 3 1/2″) using Night of Navy card stock.  I used a panel of the 2018-20 In Colors Designer Series paper for the bottom of the card, and then started stamping daisies on Whisper White Card Stock:  two in Night of Navy ink and two in Lovely Lipstick.

I punched out those stamped daisies, along with two from the Glimmer Paper — so sparkly!  Before adhering to the card base, I used a length of Gold 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon across the card on the edge of the DSP.  It’s hard to see, but it does add a bit of gold bling!  I used glue dots to attach one layer to the next for each daisy, and then popped them onto the card, three in a row.  I used three different buttons adhered with glue dots for the center of the daisies.

The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy ink on a scrap from one of my Paper Pumpkin kits, but any punched shape would do, depending on your sentiment.  This one had a gold border that I liked.  I then popped on three Real Red Rhinestone jewels.

There is a sweet new stamp set that coordinates with our new Timeless Label punch, and together these two make such a fun way to create quick tags or note cards!  Look at the cute set of tags I made!

Welcome to the Pals’ June  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects using “Anything with Wings!” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My project is a summer sampler, and I ended up using more than one winged creature, including butterflies and a variety of birds!

The sampler is 9 x 9″.  I used the measurements given to me by Audra Monk the ‘Queen of the Samplers!’  Her blog site can be found HERE.   Below is a list of basic measurements.  I have also included a list of products used at the end of this blog.

Whisper White:  9 x 9″,  Calypso Coral:  8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, Crumb Cake:  8 1/4 x 8 1/4″

Small Squares:  2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″  and 2 3/8″ x 2 38″

Rectangles:  2 1/4″ x 4 3/4″  and 2 3/8″ x 4 7/8″

You can choose to layer any color of card stock or patterned paper.  There’s no right or wrong way to create a sampler!  Let’s take a look at each corner.

The hummingbird was cut from the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series paper, and the vellum flowers were created from the Perennial Essence bundle using the Perennial Essence Vellum card stock. The vellum leaves were from a Paper Pumpkin kit — I just had to use them because they were so cute!  Don’t forget about the Perennial Essence Flower Centers!  They really finish it off.

The butterflies were punched out using the Butterfly Duo Punch.  I cut out a section of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty paper and adhered it to the left bottom panel.  I then cut out two butterflies from the Mosaic Mood paper to add a finishing touch.

The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, stamped in Mossy Meadow and cut with the Big Shot and the Stitched Shape Framelits Dies.  I punched the bird from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper with the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.  How easy, and it looks like I’m an expert ‘artist!’  Behind the circle, I arranged a bit of Old Olive thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo pack.   I stamped the birds in Memento ink and then colored them in with the Stampin’ Blends.  I also stamped three flowers and ‘fussy cut’ them, adhering them around the bird.  I attached a bow with glue dots.  A few rhinestone embellishments around the sampler, and I was done!

I ordered the 9 x 9″ white shadowbox frame from Ikea, in case you’re interested! Samplers are a blast to create, and I would encourage you to try one.
