Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Sale-A-Bration. We hope that you will be inspired by the creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Although I haven’t received my big Sale-A-Bration order yet, I did get a chance to receive one free Sale-A-Bration item in December as a result of Demonstrator Preorders. Take a look at my project and guess what it is:

You guessed it — it’s the embellishments — the Opaque Faceted Gems!

This set of cute gems contains 150 adhesive-backed pieces, 50 each of 3 colors: Calypso Coral, Pecan Pie, and Pool Party. Think of all the ways you will use these!

For my project, I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock cut at 7″ by 8 1/2″. I scored on the 7″ side at 3 1/2″. I then cut a panel of Pecan Pie cardstock at 3 3/8″ by 6 7/8″ and adhered to the front of the card base. Then I cut a piece of Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper at 3 1/4″ by 6 3/4″ and adhered to the top of the Pecan Pie. I love the thought of the bees buzzing around on daisies!

I then stamped and punched out four bees, stamping on Basic White paper with Lemon Lolly and Pecan Pie to match my DSP. In addition, I stamped wings onto Vellum cardstock using Pebbled Path ink and punched them out. Be sure to let the ink dry on the vellum!

In addition, I cut out a circle from the Deckled Circles dies and stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in Pecan Pie. These sentiments are ADORABLE!! I also stamped a little bit of honeycomb in Lemon Lolly. I was then ready to construct the card.

I used Glue Dots to adhere the wings to the bees, and then I adhered the sentiment circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals first, after which I scattered the friendly bees onto the card, adhering with Dimensionals also. 

My last task was to add Opaque Gems around the bees, providing a little bling and color. I just love them! I also ‘decorated’ my envelope flap with a little DSP as well. I hope you like my “bee-lightful” card — all the products used to create the project are found at the bottom of this post. Just click on one to start shopping with me.

I made another card using the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder in the new January-April Mini Catalog from Stampin’ Up! This one also uses the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Papers. The scene shows white flowers with yellow centers, so I tried to pick up on those flowers in an embossed panel on the front of the card:

I started with a Lolly Lemon card base of 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. I cut a panel of the Meandering Meadows DSP to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhered it to the card base. I cut a 2″ by 5 1/2″ strip of Basic White cardstock and ran it through my cut and emboss machine with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. I took a length of Baker’s Twine and wrapped it around the white embossed panel twice and tied a bow.

I also cut a 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Lemon Lolly cardstock. I used a Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend to add some yellow accents to the flowers. I then adhered the white embossed panel to the Lemon Lolly panel and then adhered to the front of the card. 

Finally I used a spare sentiment panel from a Paper Pumpkin kit (always have to use all the goodies, right?) and stamped a sentiment in using the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set. I popped it onto the front of the card using Stampin’ Diomensionals and added a couple of Tinsel Gems.

These papers are so beautiful, and this time I just used the back of one of the beautiful scenes. Aren’t these pretty?

Today I’m featuring a gorgeous new embossing folder found in the January-April Mini Catalog. The Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder is meant to add texture to your project, and this one is so pretty, it can stand alone on a very simple card. Take a look:

I started with a Very Vanilla card base of 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. I cut a panel of the Meandering Meadows DSP to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and ran it through my cut and emboss machine with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder, then adhered to the front of the card. The effect is stunning. These papers are so beautiful, and this time I just used the back of one of the beautiful scenes. Aren’t these pretty?

I then cut a circle in Very Vanilla cardstock from the Deckled Circles Dies, and stamped a sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set. If you don’t have this set, you need it – it has such beautiful sayings for all kinds of occasions:

Before adhering, I added some tape to the back and folded some Baker’s Twine to make loops. I popped the circle onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and finished off with some embellishments to add bling. Done!

So, I wanted to show you one more card that focuses on the beautiful Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up! The beauty of a Paper Share is that you will receive one 6 x 6″ sheet of EVERY paper in the new upcoming Mini Catalog. The Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ Designer Series paper is Sooooo cute, and will be very popular for Valentine’s Day this year. Here’s my card:

Here are the measurements:

• Card Base: Sweet Sorbet, 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
• Black Cardstock Panel: 5 1/4″ by 4″

I used the Deckled Circles Dies to stamp a sentiment from the Bee My Valentine stamp set (also coming up in the new Mini Catalog) in Basic White and cut it out. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop that up on the front of the card. I added a cute bow to the side of the sentiment circle. The “Bee My Valentine” punch bundle is going to be a huge hit!

Lastly, I used some Adhesive Backed Hearts and Flowers to add a little bling. Don’t you love this paper? THAT’S WHY YOU NEED TO TRY IT IN A PAPER SHARE!

Happy New Year to all! Today I’m relaxing and putting a little Christmas away, as well as posting another card that features our beautiful Designer Series Papers and reminding you to order your Paper Share from the new January-April Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog through me by January 4. 

Here’s another card I created featuring a new DSP, this time the Lighter Than Air 6 x 6″ DSP:

This layout is a CASE of fellow Stampin’ Gang member Becky Holter. Here are the measurements:

• Azure Afternoon Panel: 5 1/4″ by 4″, embossed using the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder
• Basic White Cardstock panel: 3 1/4″ by 5 1/4″
• Lighter Than Air DSP: 4 3/4″ by 3″, cut into random widths, then adhered with 1/8′ spaces between them. Be sure you keep them in the same order!

I used the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle to stamp a sentiment and border in Basic White and punched it out. I took some new Baker’s Twine Three-Color Pack and adhered some loops behind the panel. I then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop that up on the front of the card. I finally used one cute heart from the new Adhesive-Backed Hearts and Flowers pack.

Hello, and Happy New Year to all! You may be debating about ordering a Paper Share from the new January-April Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. (Let me know if you have not received a free catalog – just email me at marya2hanson@gmail.com. I would love to send you one!) 

Well, as I’ve started playing with some of the new products in the new upcoming Mini Catalog, I am again struck by the fact that you don’t have to have ALL the products in EVERY suite! I often start with the Designer Series Paper to get a feel for the Suite. Here’s a card I created using the GORGEOUS Perennial Lavender 12 x 12″ DSP:

This layout is a CASE of fellow Stampin’ Pretty Pal Brian King. Here are the measurements. Tomorrow I’ll post another card I created using this layout!

• Card Base: Crumb Cake, 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
• Gorgeous Grape Cardstock Panel: 5 1/4″ by 4″
• Longer Narrow Panel of DSP in Crumb Cake shades: 2″ by 5 1/8″
• (Pretty Peacock) Perennial Lavender DSP: 5 1/8″ by 3 7/8″
• Gorgeous Grape Cardstock: 4 1/2″ by 3″
• Lavender Flowered DSP: 4 3/8″ by 2 7/8″
