Pals June Blog Hop: Pick a “B”

2018-pbh-lltwist- June 2018 200 x 200

Welcome to the Pals June 2018 Blog Hop. This month we’re going to Pick a “B,” Projects for Babies, Birthdays or Brides, that is. Be on the lookout for creations using new products from Stampin’ Up!

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My “B” is a BIRTHDAY CARD and is all about my color choice for this project.  I am so happy that BLACKBERRY BLISS has returned to the Stampin’ Up! Color Line-Up, and I know I’m not alone!  Can I get an AMEN! My card uses the combination of Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Sahara Sand, along with Copper Embossing accents.

Rooted in Nature Bundle - Copper Embossing Powder - Mint Macaron - Blackberry Bliss - Copper Thread - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

I started out with a card base of Sahara Sand cardstock, cut to 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2,” scored at 4 1/4.”  I cut a panel of Mint Macaron cardstock to 5 1/4″ by 4″.  On that panel, I used Mint Macaron to stamp the larger leaf pattern all around the edge, stamping off the panel as well.  I adhered that Mint Macaron panel to the card base.

I cut a panel of Blackberry Bliss at 4 1/2″ by 3 1/4.”  I then cut a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock at 4 3/8″ by 3 1/8.”  On that panel, I used Mint Macaron stamp pad to stamp the smaller leaf pattern all over the panel – both at full strength and stamped off once – and then adhered it to the Blackberry Bliss panel.

I used my Big Shot to cut the largest circle from the Stitched Shaped framelits in Blackberry Bliss.  After rubbing with the Embossing Buddy, I stamped the tree image from the stamp set with Versamark, and then used Copper Embossing Powder to emboss.  While I was at it, I took a wooden embellishment from the 5th Anniversary March Paper Pumpkin kit, coated it with Versamark, and then copper embossing powder, and embossed it!

I used the embossing dies to put details onto the two sizes of leaves.  I then took the cutting leaf dies and ran through the Big Shot again.  This is such a beautiful effect — the leaves are so realistic!

Finally, I used Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Sahara Sand and then punched two scraps with the Tailored Punch — the sentiment I just stamped, and a Mint Macaron.  I put the card together, adding some Copper Thread and two Faceted Dots — they’re so cute!
