Pals August Blog Hop: Punch Your Art Out!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is pals-blog-hop-badge-5-tulips-manrope-300x300-1.webp

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Punch Your Art Out. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I chose to use the new “Trucking Along” Punch Bundle, which has been in and out of availability:

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is trucking-along-bundle-one-horse-open-sleigh-dsp-pals-blog-hop-august-boho-blue-mary-hanson-shelf-up-north-stampin.jpg

The bundle is slated to be back in inventory in October, and if you missed the first order, I hope you get your bundle just in time for holiday crafting. My project also uses the new One Horse Open Sleigh designer series papers. Wow, are they fun to use!

Measurements:

  • Card base: Early Espresso, 8 1/2 by 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Petal Pink Card Stock, 5 1/2″ by 4″
  • DSP panel: 5 1/2″ by 3 3/4″ (embossed with the retired Subtle embossing folder)

I adhered the two panels onto the card base. I then cut a circle die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies in Vellum cardstock. I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum, and dried it a little with my Heat Tool, adhering it to the card front, making sure the adhesive would be underneath the truck piece.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is trucking-along-bundle-one-horse-open-sleigh-dsp-pals-blog-hop-august-boho-blue-mary-hanson-close-up-up-north-stampin.jpg

I stamped a truck outline in Early Espresso on a scrap of Basic White cardstock, then the ‘body’ of the truck in Boho Blue, and the tires in Early Espresso. I punched it out, then affixed it to the vellum circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tucked two branch dies into the back of the truck bed from the Earthen Elegance dies to look like tree branches, and then added some 2023-2025 In-Color Dots to finish the card!

Bright & Beautiful Translucent Florals

Hi, Friends!

It’ll soon be time for you to order from the GORGEOUS and FUN September – December 2023 Mini Catalog. You are going to love the great variety and the beautiful new products that’ll take you from fall to general to the winter holidays! In honor of that, I created a project with a bundle that will be in the new mini catalog, called the Translucent Florals bundle.

I started with a card base from the Bright and Beautiful Memories and More Cards and Envelopes — these pretty watercolor card bases come in two different styles with beautiful coordinating envelopes.

I then used some Bubble Bath ink to stamp some floral images from the stamp set directly onto the card. You can ‘stamp off’ one time on a scratch piece of paper before stamping onto the card if you’d like to create a light background – totally up to you! In addition, I stamped some leaves in Lemon Lime Twist that would add background to my floral ‘bouquet.’

Then I stamped some flowers and leaves onto vellum cardstock, making sure the ink is dry before cutting the flowers with the coordinating dies. I layered the flowers and leaves onto the card base with glue dots. The effect of the translucent stamps with the vellum is really pretty!

I stamped a sentiments from the Framed Florets stamp set onto a scrap of white card stock, and cut out. I tucked the sentiment onto the card and arranged the flowers around it. I finished with some Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins and I was done!

The supplies I used to make this project can be found below – just click on one to start shopping with me. The TRANSLUCENT FLORALS bundle will be available on August 2 to order. Mark it on your calendar!

Don’t forget to redeem your Bonus Days coupons in August! Please reach out to me if you have any questions about how to redeem.

A Super Sweet and Easy Gift Card Holder!

At a recent monthly stamping club gathering, my club members and I created a gift card holder. The card was originally created by Rose Coleman, but I used new materials to create my own version.

Measurements:

Card base:  (Mine is in Fresh Freesia) 5 1/2 by 11”, scored at 3 1/2”, 7 3/4”.  Fold with smaller piece (3 1/4” flap), folded in to make the inside of card, the gift card holder.

DSP:  Front:  3 3/8” by 5 3/8”            Inside:  3 1/8”  by 5 3/8”

  1. Adhere panels down on front and inside.
  2. Punch the inside flap with a half circle punch (small) and then tape down inside flap that will be the gift card holder with Tear n Tape.
  3. I used a panel from the Scalloped Contours Dies on the inside (left side) of the gift card holder.

This is what the inside looks like — see Step 2 & 3:

  • 4. Use 16” of ribbon to wrap around the back of the card and bring to the front.
  • 5. Decorate the front of the gift card holder with a sentiment, popping up with dimensionals.  I used the Beautiful Shapes Dies largest circle, and stamped a sentiment from the Layering Leaves.

Think of the possibilities with this gift card holder — any two coordinating Designer Series papers would give this an entirely different look, right?

I hope you enjoyed my project, and thanks to Rose Coleman for the idea. So fun! The products needed to create this card are found below – click on one to start shopping with me! And don’t forget about Bonus Days! (Read on to get more details!)

That Fishing DSP Pulled Me Through Again!

My step daughter recently completed her Master’s in Environmental Studies, and now she would like to send eight Thank You Cards to all the professors and cohort members who helped her achieve this great goal. With her concentration in fisheries, I thought it would be fun to use the Let’s Go Fishing DSP. Here are the two card styles I created:

I started with a card base of Very Vanilla. To that, I adhered a panel of the Fishing DSP measuring 5 1/2″ by 4 1/4″ to completely cover the front of the card base. I also cut a coordinating DSP from the paper set at 3″ by 4 1/2″. I adhered that panel to the layer of DSP on the front, lining it up to the top of the card.

I love the sentiments from the Tropical Leaf Stamp Set — such a cool ‘scrawl’ font!

I stamped the sentiments using scrap pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock, and then a retired sentiment punch to make it quick and easy. The embellishments added just a touch of bling, and I was done.

The “Let’s Go Fishing” DSP has been one of the most popular set of papers in the Annual Catalog. Every pattern is just super! It doesn’t happen too often, but please note that the base color of these papers is indeed Very Vanilla — so rich!

I hope you enjoyed my project. The products needed to create this card are found below – click on one to start shopping with me! And don’t forget about Bonus Days!

A Quilt Card Using Punches? Ingenious!

Today my club members and I created a card that cutely resembles a small section of a quilt. The card was originally created by Lynn Dunn at Stamptastic Designs. It is so easy – you could mass produce these with very little time, and use any Designers Series Papers you wanted. Here’s one version I did:

Here are your measurements. There aren’t many:

  • Vellum Cardstock:  3 x 4 3/4
  • White panel: 4” by 4”
  • Two punches from bundle
  • Cardstock base:  A2 (5 1/2” by 8 1/2”, scored at 4 1/4”)
  • Any two coordinating DSP papers for punching

I love the Countryside Inn Designer Series Papers — they make this card so easy because of all the beautiful coordinating blue designs you can choose from. Here they are:

To create this card, I used the two punches from the Inked and Tiled Bundle. I punched four of each of the two punches, using two different patterns. Here’s the Inked Suite Collection — the punches make this SO easy!

Once you have punched out four of two different patterns, start arranging them on your card front onto which you have adhered the Vellum Cardstock, and your white square panel. Affix the punched patterns like a quilt, and then add a Basic White punched out pattern in the middle with your stamped sentiment on it.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and thanks to Lynn Dunn for the idea. Check out p. 95 of the Annual Catalog to see another idea with the same concept. So fun! The products needed to create this card are found below – click on one to start shopping with me! And don’t forget about Bonus Days!

Pals Blog Hop: CASE-ing the Annual Catalog!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is CASE the Catalog. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I love to use the catalog as a source of inspiration and ideas. CASE-ing SU!’s artisans can take a lot of the work out of it. You just have to sit back and enjoy the crafting part! My treat bag comes from inspiration found on p. 115 at the top. The 2023–2025 IN COLOR TREAT BAGS come in all five of the new In Colors.

I chose a Boho Blue bag, and an entirely different set of dies for my CASE: the Paper Florist Dies. The possibilities are endless as you create all kinds of flowers using different combinations of the die pieces. Here’s my project:

I used a variety of colors to build my bouquet: Boho Blue, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly, Garden Green, and Granny Apple Green. I used a variety of the dies to create my flowers and leaves, with the Fresh Freesia larger flower as the star of the show. I like putting the flowers down first, and then fitting the leaves around the flowers.

I adhered the flowers and leaves with glue dots, and white glue — it’s very much whichever you prefer! Because these flowers can be quite “3D,” a treat bag like this can really work, because you have your gift already wrapped, so no need for an envelope! The flowers can stick up as much as you want!

The Paper Florist Dies are so amazing — look at all the fun shapes you can use to build your flowers! And the multiple petals on some dies make it actually very quick.

I used the Boho Blue 3/8″ Texture Ribbon (it comes in all the new In Colors!) to wrap the bag and tie a bow. I finished off with some Adhesive Backed Solid Gems!

I hope you enjoyed my project today. All the supplies can be found below our Blog Hop Team Links. A simple click will have you shopping for these delightful dies with me!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are very excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month (always the second Wednesday each month), when our theme will be “Punch Your Art Out.” Until then, have fun in your craft space!
