I recently did a Facebook Live for World Card Making Day, except it was a couple of days late! Ha! Oh, well…our weekend was filled with a wedding and a family birthday, so I had to resort to a Monday Night Live instead. It’s super easy, and addictive, and I threw three cards together in a very short while. Here they are:

Aren’t they fun? This card is called the Hidden Fun Fold for a reason – the top of the card is directly on top of the base, but when you open it, there is an accordian-style opening:

Here are the measurements:

• Designer Series Paper: 4″ x 5 1/4″
• Colored Card Stock: 2 sheets at 4 1/4 X 5 1/2″, one for the front panel, one for the base panel
• Basic White Card Stock: 1 at 10 1/2″ X 4″, scored at 5 1/4″ by 7 7/8″
• Sentiment panel and embellishments of your choice!

You will fold the Basic White Card Panel at the score line, and then stamp on it before adhering it to the card base. The fold that sticks up will adhere to the back of the top panel. For the sentiments, I used both the Tailor Made Tags Dies, and a die from the Scalloped Contours Dies. Of course, you can use any sentiment for any occasion from your favorite sets!

There’s a brand new bundle from Stampin’ Up! that caught my eye from the moment the July-December Mini Catalog came out: The Words of Cheer Bundle. Here’s a card I made recently for a card swap:

The bundle is so cool, because it has two-layer large sentiment dies that can be used in a variety of ways!

In my card above, I used Evening Evergreen cardstock for the ‘happy’ with the pine accents, and the Shimmer Vellum in Soft Succulent, paired with the Foam Adhesive Sheets, for the top ‘happy’ layer. When you run the die, vellum, and double-sided adhesive foam sheet through your Cut n Emboss machine you get a sentiment that really pops! Then you simply peel the bottom adhesive sheet off the die, and stick it to the Evergreen layer, and WOW! It’s a great effect!

I took a 4″ by 5 1/4″ panel of Gray Granite cardstock, and ran it through the Cut and Emboss Machine with the Timber Embossing Folder. I then cut it in half lengthwise to make a 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece. The two Designers Series Papers patterns are from the Tiding of Christmas DSP set, found in the big Annual Catalog. I cut a 3/4″ x 4″ strip of the dark pattern, and a 2 1/4″ x 4″ panel of a different pattern. So many sheets coordinate, it’s fun to mix and match. I adhered all the panels to a Basic White cardstock panel of 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ to make an A2 card. One DSP panel overlaps the others, but that’s okay – you then take the little strip and adhere to the middle, covering up the seam!

I cut out a tag die from the Taylor Made Tags Dies on Evening Evergreen, and heat embossed a greeting from the stamp set with White Embossing Powder. I tied a small length of the 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon in Red through the tag, and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For World Card Making Day on Saturday, October 2, I had a very special task — to create a card for my sweet husband’s birthday on October 3!

I got my inspiration from Julie Gilson at Stamping Gala, who writes about using the Words of Cheer bundle for something OTHER than The Christmas holidays. Such a great way to extend the use of a stamp set! So I was on a mission to make my husband a card using this bundle. My card starts with a card base of Mossy Meadow. I also cut out these panels:

• Basic White: 4 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
• Mango Melody: 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
• Beauty of the Earth DSP: 3 5/8″ X 4 7/8″
• Misty Moonlight: 1 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
• Basic White Stitched Rectangle

I cut out the two parts to the Words of Cheer dies — the pine ‘base’ in mossy meadow, and the happy in a layer of Beauty of the Earth DSP backed by the Foam Adhesive sheet. This gave the letters the ‘pop’ that I was looking for! I LOVE this new bundle! The dies allow you to make a two-layer letter greeting!

I used the Time-Worn Type 3D Embossing Folcer for the white panel. LOVE LOVE this look. I ran the stitched rectangle panel through the Woodland Embossing folder. I then started at the card base and added all the layers. I cut out some leaves from the Stitched Leaves Dies in some rich colors. LOVE the stitching! I stamped the Happy Birthday stamp from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, and then cut the sentiment apart to keep the BIRTHDAY! From there, it was a simple job to start layering!

I created a fun little treat box that holds a twin pack of Oreos – so fun for a table favor, or picture a Halloween design for your favorite little ghoul!

I saw this box on a blog post called the Pink Designs by Cathryn. This box is so easy, and fits a twin pack of Oreos inside! The fun part is that you could make it for any season or holiday! I started with a piece of Mossy Meadow Cardstock sized  8  x  5 1/2″. I scored the 8″ side at: 1/2,  3,  4 1/4  and  6 3/4.” I scored the 5 1/2″ side at: 1,  3 3/4  and  5.”

I added panels of the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper sized:

(2)  2 5/8  x  2 3/8″

(2)  2 5/8  x  1 1/8″

(3)  2 3/8  x  1 1/8″

This paper is so gorgeous, and there are 12 x 12″ sheets that represent every season. It’s a keeper, for sure!

I then decorated the box! I cut leaves out of the Stitched Leaves dies in Mango Melody, Misty Moonlight, and one in the Be Dazzling specialty paper from Sale-A-Bration. I cut out a tag from the Tailor Made Tags Dies and stamped a sentiment on it in OId Olive. I used a small wood element that has retired to add a little more dimension to the front. I used a paper punch to create two holes at the top, and then tied the box with the ribbon after putting in the Oreo pack!

CASUAL To make the casual card, stamp the floral images in Crumb Cake ink on Basic White Thick Cardstock, then add color using Watercolor Pencils. Pro tip: Vary the pressure on your pencil to change the depth of color and use an Early Espresso pencil to increase the shading. (Notice the eye-catching use of Stampin’ Dimensionals for this card. The flowers practically jump off the page!)

AVID We’re a little bit in love with the Designer Series Paper combination on this card. And the look is so easy to achieve. Simply use the Harvest Dies to cut the strips of Designer Series Paper. Stamp “Merci” on one of the strips for one more pretty layer. Pull on the Gold 3/8″ (1 cm) Shimmer Ribbon edges to create a gorgeous accent.

ARTFULLY AVID Our artfully avid version includes deep, rich colors created with the wide brush Water Painter to make the Linen Specialty Paper really come to life. Use Paper Snips to clean strings off the edges of the paper, and there you have it! Is this not a stunning card? You may want to make this one to frame and hang on your wall!
