Need a “Hand” with Halloween Crafting?

Halloween is nearly here, which means that Paper Pumpkin has been busy, busy, busy. We thought you might like “a hand” with their frightful festivities, so we designed September’s kit, Bone Appétit, with that in mind.

08-11-19_header_halloween

This kit includes 20 food-safe treat boxes, a unique and exclusive Halloween stamp set, and a spooky, special-edition box. September’s kit also gives new meaning to the word “handmade.” (Cue the scary laughter!)

So don’t be in the dark this Halloween.   Subscribe now so you can get this great kit.

Did you know there are two different ways to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin? Well, let me give you a “HAND” with that!  (cue the scary laughter again!)

First, you can have an ongoing subscription, where every month you receive that month kit of fun projects and the kit is charged to your credit card.  In order to sign up for this type of subscription, you simply need to go to my personal Paper Pumpkin Link. That way every month you will get the kit.  If you decide you don’t want any month, you can easily skip that month.  THIS IS WHAT I DO, and most of my customers!  It’s easy, and shipping is FREE!

The second way to get Paper Pumpkin is to buy pre-paid subscriptions in my Online Store. These pre-paid subscriptions come in one, three, six or yearly subscriptions.  These make perfect gifts for friends, or family.  Many of my customers have done this!  And I have bought subscriptions for my own daughters — they LOVE it, and we try to make them together when we can! Once you pay for a prepaid subscription you will be sent a code to add to your Paper Pumpkin Account.  Any questions please let me know.

I’m Over the Mooooon!

I had a ton of fun creating this project using the new “Over the Moon” stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!  What is cuter than these cow images?  I decided to take the ‘milk’ thing and run with a milk carton treat box.

Over the Moon 2 - Milk Carton - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Here’s the rest of the stamp set!

Over the moon

Absolutely adorbs!!  I used some snack-sized milk cartons from Amazon.  Here’s what the item looks like:

Screen Shot 2019-08-20 at 7.45.56 PM

The milk cartons are the perfect size for Milk Duds or other ‘milk-related’ products, or maybe just your favorite candy, no matter what it is!

I started with a Whisper White circle punched out with a 2 1/4″ Circle Punch, on which I stamped a cow image with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I used some Stampin’ Blends (Love them!) to color in some parts of my “Bessie” cow.  I then used a card stock circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to back the White stamped circle.  The band around the milk carton is from the Dinoroar Designer Series Papers.  You could use any of SU!’s gorgeous DSP sheets you’d like.  From there, I cut a little banner and stamped my sentiment.

I punched out a small flower from the retired Petite Petals punch and added a Perennial Essence Floral Center, just for fun.  I popped on a bow of some baker’s twine, and that was THAT!  I hope you enjoyed my project.  Click on any of the products below to shop with me!!   Remember to use this HOST CODE 3JAP4X9G when you make an online order, and you will receive a new roll of 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in the color of your choice!  I’ll contact you to get your preference.  (Club members should use their own code previously emailed to you!)

August Pals Blog Hop: A Special Occasion!

2019-pbh AugustWelcome to the Pals’ July  Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for “Special Occasions”  – cards or projects that add beauty to the special occasions we all love to make cards for! You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

We have a number of weddings coming up, one of which is for a special family friend. The bride is my daughter’s best friend, so my Abby will be the Maid of Honor! It’s so fun to celebrate the good things in life!  I created a wedding card using the colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses.

Good morning Magnolia Bundle - two candles- Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin - Merry Merlot - Tailored Tag Punch - Path of Petals - Stamp Set - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

I decided on a monochromatic look with a little sparkle – can you see it?  My card uses Merry Merlot ink and cardstock.  First I stamped a single large magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia bundle on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, and used the die to cut it out.

I then took a card from the Bird Ballad Laser Cut Tin, and “sparkled it up” using the following steps:

  1.  Put a sheet of scrap paper inside the laser-cut portion, so nothing sticky gets on the rest of the card. Good morning Magnolia Bundle - Embossing Process - Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin - Merry Merlot - Tailored Tag Punch - Path of Petals - Stamp Set - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'
  2. Take your Versamark pad and stamp the pad all over the laser cut side of the card, making sure it’s thoroughly covered.
  3. Combine some clear embossing powder with the Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and sprinkle all over the paper.
  4. Using the Heat Tool, emboss the entire front, and let cool.

See the lovely effect?

Good morning Magnolia Bundle - Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin - Dazzling Diamonds- Merry Merlot - Tailored Tag Punch - Path of Petals - Stamp Set - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Next, adhere a panel of Merry Merlot to the back of the laser-cut front of the card and you’re ready to add the sentiment.  I stamped a sentiment from the Path of Petals stamp set onto a scrap piece of paper and punched it out with the Tailored Tag punch.  I popped it up, along with the elegant magnolia die cut, onto the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Good morning Magnolia Bundle - Close Up - Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin - Merry Merlot - Tailored Tag Punch - Path of Petals - Stamp Set - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

I embellished with a couple of Basic Rhinestone Jewels, and then used three strands of Linen Thread to make a bow, adhering that with a glue dot, and that was it!  An elegant wedding card!

I hope you love it, and will try this sparkly technique for yourself! All the products used for this card are found below the Blog Hop List.

A Baby Boy Shower!

We have a family baby shower coming up, and we know it’s a BOY!  The baby’s room will have elephant themed, so I thought it would be fun to make the invitations from the “Little Elephant” stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Little Elephant - 2018-20 In Color Designer Series Paper - Silver Glimmer Paper - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

These invitations were so easy to create because of the coordinating punch.  Here are the darling stamp set and punch:

Little elephant

I used the 2018-2020 In-Color Designer Series Papers in Pineapple Punch.  There are different patterns in each of the five in-colors, so I did mix up the patterns.  Here’s another one:

Little Elephant 2 - 2018-20 In Color Designer Series Paper - Silver Glimmer Paper - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Each card was created by adhering a panel of the Designer Paper to a card base of Basic Gray.  I used the Stitched Nested Label Dies to make a Whisper White panel on which to stamp and mount the punched elephants, stamped in Basic Gray as well.  I punched out little ears from Silver Glimmer Paper, and affixed a single Heart Epoxy Droplet on each invitation.  The ribbons are from my ‘stash,’ and are retired — any cute ribbon from Stampin’ Up! will do!

Little Elephant - Duo - 2018-20 In Color Designer Series Paper - Silver Glimmer Paper - Mary Hanson - Up North Stampin'

Below are all the products I used for these projects.  This month, I am offering a FREE roll of 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in any of the colors — you choose!  You have only to use this Host Code while making an online order:  3JAP4X9G
