The Pretty Pals stamping group I belong to just had a blog hop where we CASE-d the catalog, which means we found a design from the catalog that we wanted to replicate, making changes as we saw fit, and using our creativity to make the card our own. (CASE = Copy and Share Everything!)

Well, I had so much fun, I wanted to do it again! In the back of the new Annual Catalog is an index of all the bundles. On p. 161, I found a card design that I loved and wanted to recreate. I decided to make mine a portrait card instead of horizontal. Here’s my card:

This is a fun color palette: The card base is So Saffron, with the sentiment piece in Mossy meadow. The candles are cut out in Bermuda Bay, Sweet Sorbet, So Saffron, and Flirty Flamingo.

I started out with a card base of So Saffron, cut out at 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I then took a scrap of So Saffron cardstock (about 3″ by 5″) and two of the Stitched Rectangle dies closest in size, and used washi tape to lightly adhere them to the Saffron scrap without the two rectangles moving. I ran the panels through my Cut and Emboss Machine to create a stitched ‘frame.’ I turned the frame over, and put Tear and Tape all around the back of the frame, then adhered the Vellum panel to the back of the rectangle frame; I then set that framed piece aside.

I took panel of Basic White to fit behind the frame, (approx. 4″ by 2 3/4″) and I stamped it with various sentiments from the Charming Sentiments stamp set with Mossy Meadow. I put Tear n Tape carefully around the edges of the sentiment white piece. I laid the white stamped panel onto the table surface, then placed a few multi-colored sequins (retired) down on the middle of the stamped white sheet. I then carefully laid the Saffron frame (with the 4″ by 2 3/4″ vellum attached behind it) down ONTO the white sheet with the sequins on it. I then had a little shaker frame!

I used tape adhesive to then place the entire framed piece onto the card front. Cute! You can see the printed words through the vellum! I then stamped a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock, and cut it out with the coordinating die. I used a Mossy Meadow strip of 3 3/4″ by 3/4″, cut banner points out of each end of the strip, and tied a length of baker’s twine around the banner with a bow on the side. I then adhered the sentiment to the Mossy Meadow piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, I cut out four candles — one in each color as specified above — and adhered them to a white candle base to make the candle looked striped. I cut a ‘flame’ out in Mango Melody and tucked the candles into the back of the banner.

Here is the Charming Sentiment Bundle, if you haven’t noticed it yet. It’s SO cool, because you literally use a die to cut around your sentiment message — very on trend. See the little candles? They’re a cute bonus, for sure!

Today I’m featuring a pivot card fun fold that uses the beautiful “Awash in Beauty” Designer Series Papers in the new Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I also used the adorable new butterflies in the Build a Butterfly Dies. Here’s the pivot card:

This card is fun because the front diamond shape seems to ‘pivot’ as you open it. And at every turn, you see more of the beautiful Designer Series papers in this set.

This card starts out with the following materials:

BASE: 

• Blackberry Bliss (base): 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 2 1/8” x 5 1/2″ 

FRONT: 

• Basic White (image): 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” 
• Designer Series Paper (left front): 3 1/4″ x 4 1/8” 
• Designer Series Paper (image layer): 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” 

INSIDE: 

• Designer Series Paper (left inside): 3 1/4″ x 4 1/8” 
• Designer Series Paper (inside layer): 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” 
• Basic White (greeting): 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″

On the front, I cut out a butterfly from the Build a Butterfly dies using some retired glimmer paper. I also cut out a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments, using the matching die to cute our AROUND the sentiment — SO on trend! Here is the Charming Sentiment Bundle:

School is out here in Northern Minnesota, and Summer is a welcome season after a long, cold winter and very little Spring! I needed some quick and cute packaging for some small graduation gifts. I can always turn to my Stampin’ Room to find what I need. This time, I used the Timeless Tulips photopolymer stamp set and the Build a Butterfly Dies, along with the Tailor Made Dies to create my tag:

I used one of the largest tags from the Tailor Made Tags dies to create a tag, and then cut out a large butterfly in blue foil. I stamped the greeting from the Timeless Tulips stamp set, perfect for graduation, and then adhered the butterfly onto the tag.

I then used some silver curling ribbon to adhere the tag to the cellophane bag, and I was basically done. The blue butterflies shine so beautifully, and add a pretty touch to these feminine packages!

I’m still enjoying my new products from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, available almost three weeks ago. Today I’m featuring another fun card from one of my favorites — the Butterfly Kisses Suite Collection:

I began with a Fresh Freesia card base of 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I cut two panels from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Papers (found below): one at 1 1/4″ by 5 1/2″, and one at 2″ by 5″. You can make your strips and panels as large as you want to!

I cut out a Stitched Circle, and then cut out a butterfly from the DSP. The fun part is that you can build any kind of butterfly you want using the Best Butterflies dies, in any color combo.

I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment from on Calypso Coral card stock. I then cut it out using the Charming Sentiments dies. How cool are they – they cut around your sentiment just perfectly!

I will be using these absolutely adorable butterflies all summer – they’re modern and fresh, and there are so many options that you can build, both stamping and die cutting.

I had a special card to make for my husband on our anniversary, so I turned to the masculine papers of the new “He’s The Man” Designer Series Papers. This set of papers is unique in that it includes two 12×12″ sheets of pre-designed diecuts, to make a project even easier! Here’s the fun fold card I made him:

The fun fold is called a “Freestanding Floating Panel Card,” and I saw the tutorial on Susan Stampfield’s website: https://suestampfield.com/2022/04/the-freestanding-floating-panel-cards/#more-9943

I used two patterns from the “He’s the Man” Designer Papers, plus Basic White cardstock. Notice the bellyband that goes around the middle. The circle graphic is one of the pre-cut die patterns that comes with the papers. So easy! When opened, you can see the stamped sentiment on the inside as well.

Here are the basic instructions:

Card base:  5 x 7, scored at 1/2”,  1 1/2”,  5 1/2” & 6 1/2”

Turn to 5” side and score in at 1/2”, stopping at the score line.  There will be a scored square.   Flip and do the other opposite 5” at the top, 1/2” at intersecting score line.  Cut two squares out.  Make an angled cut.  Fold all the creases of the card base. (see video)

Take the larger white panels (2 x 5 1/2″) and adhere DSP to them (1 3/4 x 5 1/4”.)  Then adhere to front thin strips on the card base.  They should be even with top and bottom of card.

Floating mechanism:   Take the other two white pieces that are 1 1/2 by 4 1/2” and score at 1/2” and 1” with short end at top (score long).  Accordion fold for little tiny Z’s.  Hold the one for the left like it’s an actual Z.  Line up with the bottom of the DSP edge on the front center of card.  Right Z has to be a mirror image so the Z has to be backwards.  Adhere to card. Panels that will ‘float’:  Take the white panels at 1 1/2” by 5 1/4” and the DSP panels at 1 1/4” by 5”.  Adhere to each other, then adhere to Z panels FLUSH WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE CARD and centered.

The bellyband is 1” by 9 1/2”, (DSP) folded around the card.  Use Tear n Tape to seal the bellyband, making sure you can remove it easily from around the card.  Decorate the belly band!

Your spring and summer card designs are all taken care of in this beautiful Suite Collection called Butterfly Kisses. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it in the new Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog. Today I’m featuring two simple cards that you can make in no time, both relying heavily on the CUTE Designer Series Papers:

Both cards start with a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ panel of Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Papers. For the top card I then built a butterfly using the dies, creating a white-outline with a pattern underneath. I adhered that butterfly onto a Bumblebee banner, and stamped a sentiment in Night of Navy. I then added a bow using the 2022-24 In Color Baker’s Twine. Easy and fun!

For the second card, I simply created a sentiment panel from Tasteful Labels Dies in Fresh Freesia cardstock, stamped in Night of Navy. To finish, I added some white baker’s twine at the back of the sentiment panel and added it to the card base.

I will be using these absolutely adorable butterflies all summer – they’re modern and fresh, and there are so many options that you can build, both stamping and die cutting.
